The Holy Cross Raiders flexed their muscles en route to a dominating performance at the Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (SOSSA) girls AA hockey playdowns Tuesday in St. Catharines.

The Raiders blanked the E.L. Crossley Cyclone 13-0 in the morning semifinal before defeating the Hamilton District Christian High School Knights 10-0 in the final to punch their ticket to the Ontario Federation  of School Athletic Associations (OFSSA) championships.

The Raiders have set their sights high at OFSAA after earning a bronze and a silver in the last three years.

“We set out at the beginning of the year — every year except for one we’ve meddled with this group — so when we met at the beginning of the year we just said this is our year for gold,” Holy Cross head coach Mike Accursi said.
