
Grace Vani was amazing and then some for the Holy Cross Raiders this week.
The 14-year-old guard led all scorers with 92 points, including 27 Friday night to propel the Raiders past the Saint Francis Phoenix 60-46 in the consolation final at the BPSN High School Girls Basketball Tournament.
“It means a lot,” said Vani, who plays for the Pelham Panthers. “We won zero games last season, and to come out and be a big part of the team and contribute a lot, it’s a great feeling.”
Vani, who was named a tournament all-star, netted eight points in the first half before exploding for 19 in the final 16 minutes as the Raiders knocked off the defending consolation champions.
